Tickets

“Tickets go on sale shortly for the Taylor Swift concert. If I get through, how many tickets should I try to get,” my husband says over the phone.

A few minutes later I received the following screenshot text with the caption, “Not looking good”.

I look back now at our naivete.

My guess is that you had a similar experience.

Yes?

I mean who are these people that actually got tickets?!
Which got me thinking.

The fact that Taylor Swift sold out her concerts and made a cool 250 million dollars in a matter of hours speaks volumes!

What is it about Taylor that people love?

Just ask a fan.

When I posed the question to one of our exchange students, she replied on behalf of herself and her friends  (I’m summarizing):

  • Her lyrics and songs are relatable
  • She is a sincere person in the music industry
  • She is so talented
  • You can find yourself in all of her music
  • If you are sad, she can heal you with her songs

A quick Google search leads to answers like:

She…

  • Treats fans like royalty
  • Is very generous
  • Gives epic live shows
  • Is relatable
  • Keeps fans guessing
Translation: Taylor is charismatic and makes people feel seen and heard.

Yes, Taylor’s talent is a huge part of her success but her connection with her fans is what moves her to superstar status.

She connects with her fans through her actions, lyrics, and personality. She makes them feel special. Like she gets them.

And clearly, people can’t get enough of it!

If Taylor can connect with millions of people around the world, you can, too!

Okay, probably not the millions of worldwide fans part, but certainly, you can make connections with people in your lives.

Wouldn’t it be cool to give others the gift of feeling seen and heard?

Nonverbal communication is part of building connections with others.

And I’m here for you.

Charisma and connection can be learned.

So let me ask, are you…

“…Ready For It?”

Your co-pilot  (who hopes you get her Taylor Swift reference),

Kristin Bock

P.S. Are you a Swiftie?

If so, I’d love to hear why you adore her! And I’d like to know your favorite song as well.
