Our brain never stops. It’s like a computer constantly running in the background, scanning for any problems.
Our amygdala is our Worry Wart relative who is constantly spotting trouble and muttering things like, “I wouldn’t do that if I were you!”
The amygdala may be best known as the “fight or flight” part of the brain and it's always on high alert.
It says things like:
Watch out!
This isn’t safe!
I wouldn’t trust that person.
They aren’t going to help you.
Something is off here.
Run!
This is why we can answer the questions below without hesitation.
You don’t need body language training for your brain to know the answers.
But you do need to understand the cues to be able to spot them and avoid doing them yourself.
Knowledge is power.
The nonverbal cues we see and send out indicate friend or foe. And understanding those cues is a superpower.
As for me, I prefer to be in the friend camp.
I’ve found that creating connections and building relationships go better when people view you as likable and as a friend.
Your co-pilot, (who is sending off as many nonverbal like cues as possible!),
